Say ‘no’ to frost
The outside temperature has a major influence on the temperature in your greenhouse. The glass of your greenhouse is a first barrier against the cold, but if there is a hard frost, it will also freeze in your greenhouse. If you want a frost-free greenhouse where your container plants can hibernate or your vegetables are protected, you will therefore have to take extra measures.
Bubble wrap
Keep the cold out by lining the inner walls of your greenhouse with bubble wrap. Youcan easily attach it with bubblewrap clips. If it freezes really hard, it is best to protect your container plants with an extra layer of bubble wrap around the pot. When the frost period is over, remove the wrap again.
Heater and fan
Anyone who connects electricity to the greenhouse can install an electric heater. A fan heater is the best choice here because it also provides air circulation. That also helps against diseases and fungi. No electrical connections? Then go for an oil or wood stove. Even if you use your greenhouse as a garden room, a heater is the perfect solution to create a cosy warm place. A cosy wood fire makes sitting in your greenhouse a lot more pleasant during the colder months.
